2018. szeptember 6-án John McLaughlin (1942) emlékkoncertet adott a legendás San Francisco-i The Warfield Theatre-ben. Ott, ahol 1981-ben a nagyszerű Friday Night in San Francisco lemez felvételei készültek Al Di Meolával és Paco De Luciával.
A koncerten közreműködött többek között az amerikai Widespread Panic együttes gitárosa, Jimmy Herring is.
