Deutsche Grammophon will release the original composition To the Stars from the soundtrack for James Gray’s sci-fi drama Ad Astra. The track is composed by the film’s composer Max Richter (The Leftovers, Mary Queen of Scots, Hostiles, Miss Sloane, Taboo, Waltz with Bashir).
Ad Astra is co-written and directed by Gray and stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland. The movie centers on an astronaut as he travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. The drama premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
