Az album kiadásának oka, hogy az EU jogszabályai szerint a kiadatlan felvételeket az elkészítésüktől kezdve 50 éven keresztül védi szerzői jog, míg a kiadásra kerültek esetében az időtartam 70 év: a jogtulajdonos Apple Recordings nem szeretné, ha más kiadók profitálnának a felvételekből.
Az album 59 számot tartalmaz, a felvételek jókora táborát néhány kiválasztotton állítólag még senki nem hallhatta, míg mások ritkaságszámba mennek. A felvételekből 15 stúdióban készült, míg a maradék 44-et a BBC rögzítette.
